Tanya Gouveia is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She has her own private practice, is an adjunct professor teaching in a Substance Abuse Certificate program and provides clinical education to health care professionals on cannabis. She has experience working in outpatient and residential treatment facilities. She also has extensive experience working with the community corrections population as well as working within prisons and jails throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Her training focuses on teaching clinical staff and the community of the realities of high potency cannabis, the increased harms associated with chronic use, the liability risks for ignoring potential adverse effects to both medical and mental health conditions and the risk of safety to others by intoxicated persons under the influence of cannabis.
